It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training the trainee operator will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:

• Have a working knowledge of the manufacturers handbook for the particular machine to be used
• Be able to locate and identify the major components on the machine and explain their functions
• Conducts all pre-operational checks in acordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements
• Configure the vehicle ready for travel, on site and on the public highway
• Travel over various types of groung i.e. levl ground, undulating ground – loaded and unloaded
• Manoeuvre in confined spaces loaded and unloaded
• Check the suitability of the loading/unloading area
• Check for hazards, i.e. overhead hazards, ground hazards, and explain all necessary precautions
• Position the vehicle safely and correctly so as to conduct loading/unloading operations
• Pick up and deposit skips of various sizes and weights
• Transfer Skips to various locations
• Check the load for security and intergrity
• Check that all skips are left in a safe manner when deposited
• Carry out all end of shift and shutdown procedures.

Additional Information:
Prior to commencement of the course, candidates must have successfully achieved a CITB Health, Safety & Environment ‘touch screen’ Test within the last 2 years. We can provide this also.
