Never Seen One Before

Having been around construction plant and machinery all his working life Aurelia

instructor Trevor Anderson has never come across a backhoe that is operated from

a standing position.

However,  Lesley Palmer who is only 5 feet tall and a member of the gardening

team at Holkham Hall in Norfolk soon got to grips with this unusual attachment.

Fitted to a John Deere compact tractor the Lewis backhoe has been used for removing

old shrubs and digging trenches as well as numerous other jobs around the grounds of this

magnificent building which is open to the public and well worth a visit.
