(Construction Plant Competence Scheme)

CPCS is a card scheme designed to prove the practical skills and health and safety awareness of plant operators. It is the largest and most widely recognised qualification for the construction plant industry and is accepted on most UK construction sites.

How to acquire a CPCS Card

To acquire a CPCS card the candidate must have passed a Health, Safety and Environmental touch screen test within the previous 2 years. Call 01638 751492 to book.

The next stage is a Theory Test which consists of around 40 questions over 30 minutes, depending on the category of plant. The questions are asked verbally by an examiner. This process normally takes about 1 hour and must be carried out at our test centre.

After successful completion of the Theory Test the candidate must then pass a Practical Operating Test which takes between 1 and 3 hours depending on the category of plant. The test must also be taken at our test centre. After passing the practical test the candidate will be issued with a Red CPCS Trained Operator Card which lasts a maximum of 2 years. During this period the candidate must achieve an NVQ to convert the red card to a Blue CPCS Competent Operator Card.

Aurelia can carry out any training that may be required, from complete beginners to refresher sessions for experienced operators as well as NVQs.
